Hey guys. My name is Hilda Ramirez I'm a local entrepreneur born and raised in the very heart of Abilene Tx. A little back history about me and where I know the retail industry evolved with in me.
It all started when, My Grandmother owned a small shop in Acuna Cuah. Mex. (between the 1960's and the 1970's.) My grandmother came from a high middle class family where she was an only daughter. She married my grandfather and together they raised 10 children. Living in Mexico, she had to be clever when it came to putting food on the table. Thus, she became a local corner store owner. She purchased different livestock such as, cows and sold milk and butter. My grandmother was sweet and had a heart for people. She built relationships with vendors that would deliver sodas, and other store goods. She had history that evolved from retail as well. My great grandparents; The late Dolores Hernandez Espinoza and the late Ignacio Espinoza came from a family who owned water 💦🌊 wellsprings in a small village called Rosita Cuahila Mex. She recalls how her family would fill large water containers and go into different communities with in the town to sell natural spring water. She learned retail industry from her parents as a small child. The stories were passed down to me at a very young age. I guess I was pretty inquisitive at the time, little did I know it would serve a great purpose.
My first job was working as a front end cashier for Eckerd Pharmacy. I was building relationships with people who shopped ads and walked in with coupons to buy toilet paper. At age 17, I didn't know how this would serve me a purpose. I looked forward to speaking with our neighborhood customers. My second job was in banking it wasn't just a teller job it was my career. I met more people. Having been born from a family of 7. My parents and 4 brothers. I took was the only daughter. So keeping up with my brother's and how they succeeded in their extra curricular worlds was my drive. The challenge of succeeding in the work force industry was my goal. My dad had been a truck driver all throughout my life and my mother was our God given assigned home maker. In the early 90's tortillas were homemade everyday. After becoming a single mother in 2012, I continued to grow my studies and my relationships with people everywhere I went. Whether it was in college as an adult, at my local church, with family, or in our local favorite restaurants. etc. In 2017, my father approved of a young man to be my husband. He gives us his blessings. And in our journey thru blending children, each other, and continuing to work on our career paths. It happens, a light bulb 💡 turns on. The confidence of walking with God. The trust with God first and foremost the respect from my husband. The space given to grow 🪴 and root myself into who I am and what I am called to do. In 2016, the name of our business became grounded in our family. Our story of how the name was created quickly became Luma34. In our family, it means love you much always. When the hour falls on the 34th minute and someone in our family, ironically looks att he time of day. We remember to speak the words luma outloud to one another as a form of telling each other that we love them. Where you hear people speak the words I love you, we speak Luma34. We say Luma34. Love you much always followed by our favorite number 34. That can more times than none be 1:34 pm. While the journey continues. This is our story behind Luma34 Boutique with my back history. We hope you are blessed. We pray that God will unfold his story with in you. That you find comfort and peace knowing who you are in Christ! We love you all have a blessed and prosperous Holiday season.
